Un dolce canto ammaliator

di Silvano Terzo

Unknown-2

    Old fashion Christmas

    Like an old fashion Christmas
    the night before starts gay
    some folks are celebrating
    while other’s decorating
    the ornaments on the tree.
    As the morning get started
for the greatest day of year
    the pretty snow is falling
    and people Christmas calling
    to rich everyone with cheer.
Jingle bells, Jin Jin Jin people caroling
makes this day a day of joy
    kids away can’t see
    gifts around the Christmas tree
and sure enough one breaks of toy.
    After dinner there’s more glee
on a table set by the wall
    together cheerful faces
    set where the fire places.
    Like an old fashion Christmas
an old fashion Christmas for all.
Jingle bells, Jin Jin Jin people caroling
makes this day a day of joy
    kids away can’t see
    gifts around the Christmas tree
and sure enough one breaks of toy.
    After dinner there’s more glee
on a table set by the wall
    together cheerful faces
    set where the fire places.
    Like an old fashion Christmas
an old fashion Christmas for all.

    The secret of Christmas

It’s not the glow you feel, when snow appears
It’s not the Christmas card, you’ve sent for years
Not the joyful sound, when sleigh bells ring
Or the merry songs, children sing
The little gift you send, on Christmas day
Will not bring back the friend, you turned away
So may I suggest, the secret of Christmas
It’s not the things you do, at Christmas time
But the Christmas things you do all year through.

    Baby it’s cold outside

I really can’t stay – But baby it’s cold outside
I’ve got to go away – But baby it’s cold outside
This evening has been – I’ll hold your hands, they’re just like ice
My mother will start to worry – Beautiful, what’s your hurry?
My father will be pacing the floor – Listen to the fireplace roar
So really I’d better scurry – Beautiful, please don’t worry

The neighbors might think – Baby it’s bad out there
Say, what’s in this drink? – No cabs to be had out there
I wish I knew how – Your eyes are like starlight now
To break the spell – I’ll take your hat, your hair looks swell
I ought to say no, no, no, sir _ Mind if I move in closer?
At least I’m gonna say that I tried – What the sense in hurting my pride?
    I really can’t stay – Baby don’t hold out
    Oh, but it’s cold outside

I simply must go – But baby, it’s cold outside
The answer is no – But baby, it’s cold outside
This welcome has been – How lucky that you dropped in
So nice and warm – Look out the window at the storm
My sister will be suspicious – Gosh, your lips look delicious
My brother will be there at the door – Waves upon a tropical storm
My maiden aunt’s mind is vicious – Oh, your lips are delicious
Maybe just a cigarette more – Never such a blizzard before

I’ve got to go home – But baby, you’ll freeze out there
Say, lend me your coat – It’s up to your knees out there

    I’ll be home for Christmas

I’m dreamin’ tonight of a place I love
Even more than I usually do
And although I know it’s a long road back
    I promise you
    I’ll be home for Christmas
    You cant count on me
    Please have snow and mistletoe
    And presents under the tree
    Christmas Eve will find me
    Where the love light beams
    I’ll be home for Christmas
    If only in my dreams
    Christmas Eve will find me
    Where the love light beams
    I’ll be home for Christmas
    If only in my dreams
    If only in my dreams

Have yourself a Merry little Christmas

Have yourself a merry little Christmas,
    Let your heart be light.
    From now on,
our troubles will be out of sight.

Have yourself a merry little Christmas,
    Make the Yule tide gay,
    From now on,
Our troubles will be miles away.

Here we are as in olden days,
    Happy golden days of yore.
Faithful friends who are dear to us
Gather near to us once more.

Through the years we all will be together,
    If the Fates allow,
Hang a shining star upon the highest bough.
And have yourself a merry little Christmas now.

    Jingle bell rock

Jingle bell, jingle bell, jingle bell rock
Jinglebells swing and jingle bells ring
Snowingand blowing up bushels of fun
    Nowthe jingle hop has begun
Jinglebell, jingle bell, jingle bell rock
Jinglebells chime in jingle bell time
Dancingand prancing in Jingle Bell Square
    Inthe frosty air.
Whata bright time, it’s the right time
    Torock the night away
Jinglebell time is a swell time
Togo gliding in a one-horse sleigh
Giddy-upjingle horse, pick up your feet
    Jinglearound the clock
Mixand a-mingle in the jingling feet
    That’sthe jingle bell rock

    Silent night

    Silent night, holy night!
All is calm, All is bright
Round yon Virgin, Mother and Child
Holy Infant so Tender and mild,
    Sleep in heavenly peace,
    Sleep in heavenly peace.

    Silent night, holy night!
    Shepherds quake at the sight!
    Glories stream from heaven afar;
    Heavenly hosts sing Alleluia!
    Christ the Saviour is born!
    Christ the Saviour is born!

    Silent night, Holy night!
Son of God, love’s pure light
Radiant beams from Thy holy face,
With the dawn of redeeming grace,
    Jesus Lord at thy birth;
    Jesus Lord at thy birth.

    Let it snow

Oh, the weather outside is frightful,
But the fire is so delightful,
And since we’ve no place to go,
Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow.

It doesn’t show signs of stopping,
And I brought some corn for popping,
The lights are turned way down low,
Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow.

When we finally say good night,
    How I’ll hate going out in the storm;
But if you really hold me tight,
All the way home I’ll be warm.

    The fire is slowly dying,
And, my dear, we’re still good-bye-ing,
But as long as you love me so.
Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow.
    How lovely Is Christmas
    How lovely is Christmas
    With boughs in the hall
    When bells ringle jingle
    And friends come to call

    How lovely is Christmas
    With joy on the wing
    While under your window
    The carolers sing

    God rest ye, be merry
    Give peace while you may
    Remember the child
Who was born on this day

    How lovely is Christmas
    With songs in the air
    A bright merry Christmas
    Dear friends everywhere

    How lovely Is Christmas

    How lovely is Christmas
    With boughs in the hall

    How lovely is Christmas

    Dear friends everywhere

Santa Claus got stuck in my chinney

Santa Claus got stuck in my chimney,
    Stuck in my chimney,
    Stuck inmy chimney,
Santa Claus got stuck in my chimney
    When he came last year.
Santa Claus got stuck in my chimney,
    Stuck in my chimney,
    Stuck in my chimney,
Santa Claus got stuck in my chimney,
He won’t come back, I fear!
There he was in the middle of the chimney,
    Roly-poly, fat and round.
There he was in the middle of the chimney,
Not quite up and not quite down!
Santa, please come back to my chimney,
    Back to my chimney,
    Back to my chimney,
Santa, please come back to my chimney,
‘Cause daddy made a brand new chimney
    Just for you this year!

It came upon a midnight clear

It came upon a midnight clear,
    that glorious song of old,
from angels bending near the earth
to touch their harps of gold
Peace on the earth, good will to men,
    from heaven’s all-gracious King.
The world in solemn stillness lay,
    to hear the angels sing.
Above its sad and lowly plains,
    they bend on hovering wing,
and ever o’er its Babel sounds
    the blessed angels sing.
The world in solemn stillness lay,
    to hear the angels sing.

    White Christmas

I’m dreaming of a white Christmas
Just like the ones I used to know
    Where the treetops glisten
    and children listen
To hearsleigh bells in the snow

I’m dreaming of a white Christmas
With every Christmas card I write
May your days be merry and bright
    And may all your
    Christmases be white

I’m dreaming of a white Christmas
With every Christmas card I write
May your days be merry and bright
And may all your Christmases be white

    A mio parere s’intende.
